What an amazing lunch today at Palmilla Cocina y Tequilla in Newport Beach today. We were seated at a lovely table near the window and it was bright and sunny. The ambiance was positive and soothing. Roland was our amazing server with assistance from Nate and Franky who were also stellar. The parking attendant and also the two wonderful hostesses were also so kind and welcoming. We started with chips and guacamole, two amazing margaritas and the tortillas with fantastic condiments. My wife ordered the halibut tacos and I had the chicken enchilada suizas. Both dishes were well prepared and presented and tasted heavenly. What an amazing restaurant and surely at the top of our list for Mexican cuisine. Thanks again to Roland, Nate and Franky as these staff members not only do a stellar job with serving customers, they love what they do and it shows. Highly recommended.

Food and ambiance is great! Love their salsa and fresh tortilla starter. Ordered the surf and turf enchiladas, wasn't a big fan of the red sauce enchilada but the green one is on another level. Would try to just order the green one next time as the red enchilada taste like salsa thrown over the top straight out of a jar. Wife ordered the achiote based salmon and this was incredible. Would order this every time we visit. Combination of flavors was unique and flavorful. Service was great as well, multiple people waited our table and never had any issues!

I love this place so much that I went back for brunch! This time, I had vegan tacos and a virgin spicy mango Bloody Mary. The new bartender made the best drinks!

We visited this restaurant for dinner without a reservation and were fortunate to find seats at the bar. For Sunday evenings, I strongly recommend making a reservation. The artistic ambiance, complemented by soft lighting and music, makes this place special. We started with fresh tortillas accompanied by butter and spicy Mexican sauces--a delightful beginning. The trio ceviche offered three distinct varieties, served with fried banana chips. The crispy seafood burrito was exceptional, blending Italian and Mexican flavors harmoniously. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend trying it.

The house tortillas with butter and sauces are SO good, especially with the butter. The espresso martinis were great and we all enjoyed the rest of our food too (burrito, chimichanga, surf and turf enchiladas). The ceviche was amazing and the plantain chips were also really good. Service was nice but a b it slow. Would go back though, it has a cute vibe!

Such an awesome evening celebrating a birthday! Our server Janeen was terrific at anticipating our needs and making sure everything was perfect. The food was delicious. Everyone was very happy with their choice. I love the salmon over a corn cake. The atmosphere is lively but not too loud. Just a beautiful interior.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Latin food and cute coastal vibes. We made a recreation for brunch, because they do get busy. They are Kid friendly with crayons and nice kids menu. They are also Large group friendly and accommodated our group of 8. Delicious Drinks and unique cocktail options. Friendly and accommodating staff as well which always makes for a great meal.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. The interior feels like upscale Havana beach vibe. Table setup wasn't as ideal since large chairs with tables took up the front area near the bar, creating lack of space for additional seating. Being seated near the bar can get quite annoying as there were younger patrons sitting around drinking and chatting really loudly. For those who like more of a relaxed dining experience, I suggest coming here on weekdays when it's less crowded. Food was good overall. I wish the menu had more options for appetizers. Shrimp with fish ceviche was good, although I didn't really care much for the mango spicy ceviche. Shrimp taquitos were crunchy and tasty. Chicken quesadillas had too much cheese with too less chicken. Skirt steak with chimichurri sauce was delicious, tender and flavorful. Salmon was moist and well seasoned. Fish tacos were also tasty. Cocktail drinks were refreshing. Price is around $$$ since this is an upscale Mexican restaurant. I can understand for people who will think this is expensive for Mexican food. Portions are good overall. Service was good. Our waitress was very friendly and all smiles.

My palate and taste are simple. I am easily satisfied with the best. With a smile reaching from cheek to cheek, and the sunny day giving the spotlight on us, our date was as magical like fireworks blasting from Marina Bay Sands. Everything from the nice Hispanic decor, unique Mexican flavors, food being served on Talavera inspired styled plates, and excellent customer service made our lunch a fun experience. I forgot the server's name, but she did a good job taking care of us. She also gave us good recommendations on the food. I tipped her quite well, lol. We ordered Prime Filet Mignon, Pescado de la Dia, and Shrimp Taquitos. They made sure the meat was medium rare. Really enjoyed how Latins prepare their steak with unique and interesting spices. The shrimp Taquitos is a must for appetizers because they are huge and crunchy. I will give the food a 5/5. Every dish was delicious and creative. Presentation is nice as well. Gotta come back and take my mom next time! God damn!

We called 1 week ahead and could not get a reservation. We waited 60 minutes for a table and the host didn't jot down our number correctly, so we probably waited longer than we needed to since she never called us. The server we had was great and very friendly and attentive for a busy Saturday night. We sat outside and it was pretty chilly but the heater did help a lot with that. I highly recommend the margaritas, and crispy tacos. If the host hasn't been rude to us in regard to her mistake for jotting down our number wrong, this restaurant would have gotten 5 stars from me. She said "I tried to call you guys several times" with attitude. We responded politely asking what number she had down, and she had a digit wrong. She was very cold and unfriendly. This restaurant is easily 5 stars otherwise for everything else. The only thing I would do differently, is call weeks in advance for a reservation to avoid the hassle with the hosts.
